An Act to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter 20 of the Acts of Assembly
of 1950, approved February 17, 1950, relating to acquisition, con-
struction, operation and maintenance of swimming pools in certain

counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 1 of Chapter 20 of the Acts of Assembly of 1950, approved
February 17, 1950, be amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 1. The governing body of any county having a population of more
than one thousand per square mile as shown by the last preceding United
States census shall have power to acquire, construct, operate and maintain
swimming pools for the benefit of the public therein and the operation of
any such swimming pool is hereby declared to be a governmental function
for the general welfare of the people of the county.
