An Act to amend and reenact § 58-897 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to the license taxation of certain coin-operated radios; and to include
coin-operated television sets within its provisions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
he That § 58-397 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 58-397. Radios and television sets operated by coins in hotel,
lodging house and hospital rooms and eating places.—Coin-operated radios
and television sets may be installed by any person, firm or corporation in
hotel and lodging house rooms and hospital rooms, or in booths or on tables
or counters in restaurants and other eating places, upon the payment of
a State license tax of one dollar per annum per radio or per television set.
Licenses to cover any number of such radios or television sets in any
particular hotel, lodging house, hospital, restaurant or other eating place
may be applied for in one application and in such case there shall be only
one issuance fee of seventy-five cents under § 58-266 for licenses covering
the number of radios or television sets specified in such application for
installation and operation at the particular location described in such
application. A separate application shall be required for each location.
The operation of coin-operated radios and television sets shall not require
the taking out of an operator’s license in addition to the license for each
individual radio or television set. The license taxes imposed by this section
shall not be subject to proration.
