CHAPTER 77

An Act to amend and reenact § 8-56 of the Code of 1950 in relation to
how a summons or scire facias may be served, so as to correct a cross
reference.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8-56 of the Code of 1950 be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 8-56. How summons or scire facias served.—Any summons or
scire facias may be served in the same manner and by the same person as
is prescribed for the service of a notice under §§ 8-51, * 8-52 and 8-58,
except that when such process is against a corporation the mode of service
shall be as prescribed by §§ 8-59 and 8-60.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
