An Act for the relief of Frank D. Shrader.
Approved April 4, 1952
Whereas, Camp 31 of the State Road Force set up in Chapel, Virginia,
part of which camp being upon lands rented by the State from Frank D
Shrader; and
Whereas, as a condition of the lease, it was covenanted that a fence
would be built by the road force between the camp site and Frank D.
Shrader’s barn; and

Whereas, such fence was not built; and
Whereas, some trusties working thereon carelessly left a one hundred
pound bag of chop lying in the vicinity of the hog lot of Frank D. Shrader ;

Whereas, three cows, true to their natural born instincts, found their
way to said bag of chop, consuming it, thereby causing themselves to
become foundered; and
Whereas, as a result of such foundering the cows became sick, and
it then and there became necessary to require veterinary attention, in
spite of which attention, one cow did die; and
Whereas, this cow was with calf, and the calf did die with her; and
Whereas, there is no other method by which Frank D. Shrader may be
compensated for his loss; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That there is appropriated from the general fund of the State Treas-
ury the sum of two hundred fifty dollars and the Comptroller is directed
to draw his warrant in that amount payable to Frank D. Shrader, pro-
vided that contemporaneously with the delivery of the warrant, Frank D.
Shrader will execute and deliver his full and complete release for the
damage sustained by him.
