CHAPTER 64

An Act to amend Chap 128 of the Acts of Assembly of 1875-76,
approved March 15, 1876, as amended, which provided a charter for
the town of Franklin by adding a section numbered 8-a, providing for
the compensation of the mayor and governing body of the town.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Chap 123 of the Acts of Assembly of 1875-76, approved
March 15, 1876, as amended, be amended by adding a section numbered
3-a as follows:

§ 3-a. Notwithstanding any other provisions in the charter to the
contrary, the members of the governing body of the town shall receive
the sum of ten dollars for attendance upon each regular meeting of
such governing body. In addition, the mayor shall receive the sum of
one hundred dollars per year as compensation for his services.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
