CHAPTER 576
An Act to prohibit the throwing or depositing of certain substances upon
the highways, to provide for the removal of such substances and to
provide for the punishment of violators and fix penalties therefor.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. No person shall throw or deposit or cause to be deposited upon any
highway any glass bottle, glass, nail, tack, wire, can, or any other sub-
stance likely to injure any person or animal, or damage any vehicle upon
such highway. Any person who drops, or permits to be dropped or thrown,
upon any highway any destructive or injurious material shall immediately
remove the same or cause it to be removed. Any person removing a
wrecked or damaged vehicle from a highway shall remove any glass or
other injurious substance dropped upon the highway from such vehicle.
Any persons violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and, upon conviction, punished accordingly.
