CHAPTER 519

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a section num-
bered 14-155.6, relating to salaries of clerks in circuit courts in
certain counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a section
numbered 14-155.6, as follows:

§ 14-155.6. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 14-155, and subject
to the provisions of § 14-155.2, the total annual compensation of clerks
of circuit courts of any county having a population of not less than twenty
thousand nor more than twenty thousand two hundred or of not less than
eighteen thousand nine hundred and not more than nineteen thousand five
hundred may exceed five thousand five hundred dollars but shall not
exceed six thousand dollars.
