CHAPTER 408

An Act to amend and reenact § 56-212 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
the use of words “electric co-operative” in corporate names.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

a That § 56-212 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:

§ 56-212. The words “electric co-operative” shall not be used in the
corporate name of corporations other than (1) those formed pursuant to
the provisions of this chapter and (2) non-stock corporations of which
electric co-operatives are members.

2. Anemergency exists and this Act is in force from its passage.
