CHAPTER 379

An Act to authorize the governing bodies of certain counties to levy a
tax upon real property for the purpose of providing and maintaining
shelters at certain school bus stops.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia: _

1. The governing body of any county having a population of more than
forty-five thousand and less than fifty thousand hereby is empowered
and authorized to levy a tax upon real property at the rate of one cent
for each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation, the proceeds of which
shall be used for the purpose of constructing and maintaining shelters
at locations where school buses regularly or frequently load and unload
passengers.
