An Act to amend and reenact §§ 9-16 and 9-29 of the Code of Virginia,
relating to designation of agency in charge of certain events and tax
on receipts of boxing and wrestling clubs, corporations or associations
so as to extend the application thereof.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §§ 9-16 and 9-29 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reen-
acted as follows:
9-16. Creation; powers and duties in general.—The * Virginia
Athletic Commission, hereinafter referred to as the Commission, is hereby
created, continued, and vested with the powers and duties specified herein
and all other powers necessary and proper to enable it to execute fully and
effectually all the purposes of this chapter.
§ 9-29. Reports by clubs, etc.; payment of tax on receipts.—Every
club, corporation or association which may hold or exercise any of the
privileges conferred by this chapter shall, within twenty-four hours after
the termination of every contest, furnish to the Commission a written
report, duly verified by one of its officers, showing the number of tickets
sold for such contest, and the amount of gross proceeds thereof, and such
other matters as the Commission may prescribe; and shall also within
such time, pay to the Commission a tax of five per centum of its total
gross receipts from the sale of tickets of admission to, and rights to broad-
cast by radio or television, such boxing or sparring match or exhibition.
