CHAPTER 241

An Act to prohibit the leasing of certain oyster grounds.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The Commission of Fisheries shall have no power to lease any oyster
bottom in the James River, above the James River Bridge, west of the
James River Bridge, not theretofore leased, and nothing herein contained
shall apply to any renewal of existing leases.
2. Anemergency exists and this act shall be in force from its passage.
