CHAPTER 236

An Act to amend and reenact § 17-211 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to matters excluded from jurisdiction of the Court of Law and Chan-
cery of the city of Roanoke.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 17-211 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 17-211. Such Court of Law and Chancery shall have no jurisdic-
tion of the following matters, which shall remain as heretofore in the
Hustings Court of such city: |

(1) Presentments, indictments and informations for offenses, actions
and proceedings to enforce the payment of fines and penalties, except
those conferred by law exclusively upon the * municipal court, or the
judges thereof, of such city;

(2) The appointment and removal of officers conferred by law upon
the Hustings Court; and

(3) The docketing of judgments and recordation in the mode pn-
scribed by law of deeds and other writings authorized or required by law
to be recorded.
