Chap. 84.—An ACT to Authorize the Trustees to Sell Rappahannock
Academy, in Caroline County,
Approved February 15, 1873.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for John J. Gravatt, John B. Lightfoot and
Richard H. Garrett, trustees of the Rappahannock academy,
m the county of Caroline, and their successors, to sell at such
time and upon such terms as they may deem expedient, the
buildings and appurtenances, together with two hundred and
sixty-four and three-quarters acres of land, upon which it is
situated, and turn over the proceeds of said sale to the county
school board of Caroline county, to be by them applied to the
use and benefit of the public free schools of said county; and
it shall be lawful for the trustees aforesaid, or their successors,
when the said academy and two hundred and sixty-four and
three-quarters acres of land shall have been sold, and the pur-
chase money paid according to the terms of sale, to convey to
the purchaser thereof all the right and title vested in them as.
trustees aforesaid.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
