Chap. 43.—An ACT to Encourage Agricultural and Industrial Fairs.
Approved January 20, 1873.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That any person
licensed or otherwise authorized by law to sell any article or
commodity at any place in this state, may, under the same
license, or by the same authority, sell such article or commo-
dity at any fair, or other exhibition of agricultural or industrial
products, held in Virginia, by any company or society now
organized to hold and conduct such fairs or exhibitions, and
such societies or organizations as shall hereafter be chartered
and organized according to law.
2. That the sales hereby authorized shall only be made with
the consent of such company or society, and at such place
under their control as they shall indicate, and may continue
during such fair or exhibition, not exceeding one week in any
year.
3. The sales thus made shall be accounted for and returned
for purposes of taxation, in all respects as other sales under
the same license, or other business of the same person.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
