CHAPTER 98
AN ACT to authorize the county of Prince Edward to convey cer-
tain property to the town of Farmville, and to prescribe the
terms and conditions thereof.

Whereas, the county of Prince Edward has certain property
which is separate from the property on which county buildings are
located ; and
Whereas, said parcel of property consists of less than one acre
and which is not required for county purposes and it is desired to
dispose of the same; now, therefore
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The governing body of the county of Prince Edward is
authorized to sell and convey to the town of Farmville upon such
terms and conditions as it deems proper in exchange for other
property that certain tract or parcel of land containing less than
one acre which lies to the east of the property on which the county
courthouse is located and which is separated from said larger tract
by South Street; said parcel lying and being on the east side of
South Street and fronting thereon approximately one hundred fifty-
seven feet and from said street running in an easterly direction
between approximately parallel lines the northernmost line of
which is twenty-five feet, more or less, and the southernmost line
of which is one hundred sixteen feet, more or less, to points in
Gross’s Branch, and the eastern boundary thereof being one hun-
dred sixty-five feet, more or less, between the easternmost points
of the aforesaid approximately parallel lines.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from passage.
