CHAPTER 96

AN ACT to amend the Code of 1950 by adding a section num-
bered 15-806.1, relating to election of governing bodies of

certain counties under optional form of county government.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of 1950 be amended by adding a section num-
bered 15-306.1, as follows:

§ 15-306.1. If any county which adjoins three cities in
this State, one of which has a population of more than one hun-
dred ninety thousand, elects to adopt the form of government
provided in this article, each member of the county governing
body shall, notwithstanding other provisions hereof to the con-
trary, continue to be a qualified voter of his magisterial district
and elected by the qualified voters of such district.
