CHAPTER 529

AN ACT to amend and reenact § 38-218.10 of the Code of 1950,
relating to types of insurance which are exempt from Arti-

cle 8 of Chapter 8 of Title 38.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 38-218.10 of the Code of 1950 be amended and re-
enacted as follows:

§ 38-218.10. Types of insurance to which article does not
apply.—This article shall not apply to:

(1) Reinsurance;

(2) Insurance on or with respect to risks protected in
whole or in part by automatic sprinklers when such risks are
insured in connection with an inspection service;

(2a) Insurance of operating properties of railroads;

(3) Marine and inland marine insurance, including per-
sonal property floater (householders’ comprehensive) insurance,
as these terms are defined by statute or by the Commission or
as commonly understood or as established by general custom of
the business; and
(4) Insurance of hulls of aircraft, including their acces-
sories and equipment, or against liability arising out of the own-
ership or maintenance or use of aircraft.
