63-220.1, so as to enable the Board of Welfare and Institutions
to take advantage of certain possible future federal social se-
curity legislation.
[S 339}
Approved April 7, 1950
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1, That the Code of 1950 be amended by adding a section num-
bered 63-220.1, as follows: .
§ 63- 220.1. In the event the Federal Social Security Act or
other appropriate Federal statutes are so amended as to permit
funds appropriated by Congress to be used for assistance to any
persons eligible for assistance under this Chapter, the State Board
may, pursuant to the provisions of § 63-25, make applicable such
provisions of Chapter 6 of this Title as the State Board finds neces-
sary for purposes of enabling the State to receive reimbursement
for assistance granted such persons. The State Board may also
by rule and regulation define eligibility, within the limitations of
§ 63-205, of persons to receive assistance under any extension of
the Federal Social Security Act as herein anticipated. It is the
purpose of this amendment to enable the State of Virginia to meet
the requirements for Federal reimbursement on assistance to per-
sons who are eligible for relief under § 63-205 and who may be
eligible under proposed extensions of the Federal Social Security
Act.
