AN ACT to amend and reenact § 46-257 of the Code of 1950, relat-
ing to stopping of certain vehicles on the traveled portion of
highways.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 46-257 of the Code of 1950 be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 46-257. Same; to discharge cargo or passengers.—No truck
or bus or part thereof other than a school bus transporting school
children when discharging children who must cross the highway,
shall be stopped on the traveled portion of any highway for the
purpose of taking on or discharging cargo or passengers unless
the operator cannot leave the traveled portion of the highway with
safety. A school bus stopping on the highway shall be stopped at
a@ point where it can be clearly seen from both directions.
