N ACT to amend and reenact § 63-367 of the Code of 1950 per-
taining to the Virginia Industrial School for Colored Girls, to
change the name of the school to the Janie Porter Barrett
School for Girls.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
That § 63-367 of the Code of 1950 be amended and reenacted
follows :
§ 63-367. * Janie Porter Barrett School for Girls.—The Vir-
nia Industrial School for Colored Girls, formerly the Industrial
Home Schoo] for Wayward Colored Girls, shall be after the effec-
tive date of this amendment known as the Janie Porter Barrett
School for Girls and is continued under the control of the Depart-
ment. The Governor and the State Board may sell the property of
the schvol and locate the school elsewhere if, in their judgment,
the same shall be deemed advisable; provided, that the Common-
wealth shall maintain the school until the sale of the property,
and that the proceeds of the sale shall be reinvested in a school
of like character.
Colored girls may be committed to the * Janie Porter Barrett
School for Girls for the same reasons and with the same effect as
they were formerly committed to the Virginia Industrial School
for Colored Girls and to the Industrial Home School for Way-
ward Colored Girls.
