CHAPTER 152

AN ACT to amend the Code of 1950 by adding a section num-
bered 58-834.2, relating to when certain property not
deemed to have acquired a situs for taxation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of 1950 be amended by adding a section
numbered 58-884.2 as follows:

§ 58-834.2. Vessels regularly engaged in interstate and
foreign commerce, physically present in a county, district, town
or city on the first day of the tax year for the purpose of taking
on and discharging passengers and cargo, either or both, or for
the purpose of repairs, or temporarily idle and laid up, shall not
thereby be deemed to have acquired or established situs for the
purposes of assessment and taxation, under §§ 58-834, 58-834.1
and 58-570 of this Code.
