CHAPTER 147
AN ACT to authorize the Department of Welfare and Institu-
tions to sell and convey certain real estate, and to appro-
priate the funds received therefrom.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Department of Welfare and Institutions is au-
thorized to sell and convey by proper deed, upon such terms as
it deems appropriate, that certain tract of land constituting one
acre, more or less, lying north of Secondary Highway 614, which
highway is generally known as “Norman’s Bridge Road’’, said
tract constituting a portion of the property of the Virginia
Manual Labor School for Colored Boys in the county of Han-
over. The tract herein authorized to be sold is no longer neces-
sary for the purposes of the school and is separated from the
main tract by the aforesaid highway. Such sale and conveyance
shall be subject to the approval of the Governor, and the deed
shall be prepared by the Attorney General.
2. The funds realized from the sale of the aforesaid land shall
be deposited in the State Treasury to the credit of such school
and are hereby appropriated thereto.
