Original Draft of the Ordinance of Secession adopted by the Convention
of Virginia, April, 1861.

Agreed to March 2, 1873.

1. Resolved (the house of delegates concurring), That the
governor be requested to make application to the state depart-
ment of the federal government for the return of the original
draft of the ordinance of secession, adopted by the Virginia
Convention in April, 1861, now on file in that department, in
order that it may be preserved in the Virginia state library as
part of the official history of the state. |
