Chap. 89.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding two new sections
numbered 5905-a and 5905-b to create a corporation court in the city of
Waynesboro and to provide for the election of a judge therefor. {H 322)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding two new
ctions numbered fifty-nine hundred five-a and fifty-nine hundred
e-b as follows: .
Section 5905-a. There is hereby created a corporation court
r the city of Waynesboro. Such court and the judge thereof
all have, and are hereby vested with, the powers, duties and
risdiction imposed upon corporation courts and the judges thereof
general law.
Section 5905-b. If a new or additional corporation court be
sated a judge shall be chosen therefor by the joint vote of the
o houses of the General Assembly for a term of eight years com-
sncing on the first day of February next following his election and
e General Assembly, in any case in which the act creating a
w court becomes effective during the same session or before or
ring a later session held prior to the regular commencement of
rm of the judge so elected, may, by a separate election, fill the
cancy occasioned by the creation of the new court, but in any
se in which the General Assembly cannot or does not fill the
cancy the Governor shall, as soon as the session is adjourned,
point a judge for the new court for the time elapsing from the
te of its creation until the commencement of the term. The pro-
ions of this section shall apply to the corporation court of the
v of Waynesboro established under the preceding section.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
