Chap. 545.—An ACT to authorize the State Board of Health with the approval
of the Governor, to sell and convey, or to transfer to another agency of the
Commonwealth, certain property in Princess Anne County formerly owned
by the Tidewater Tuberculosis Hospital Association, together with additions
thereto and improvements thereon; to prescribe how the proceeds of such sale
or transfer shall be used; and to provide for a memorial tablet to certain
persons. [S 326]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. Section 1. The State Board of Health is hereby authorized
and empowered, with the approval of the Governor, to sell at such
price and on such terms as it may deem best, and to convey by proper
deed duly executed and acknowledged by the State Health Commissioner
on behalf of the State Board of Health, after he shall have been author-
ized so to do by resolution of the Board adopted by a majority of
the members thereof, all the right, title and interest of the State Board
of Health and of the Commonwealth of Virginia in and to certain real
property with all improvements thereon and appurtenances thereto
belonging, lying and being in the county of Princess Anne, Virginia and
fully described in chapter three hundred fifty-one of the Acts of Assembly
of nineteen hundred forty-two, to which act reference is hereby made for
a more particular description, together with all personal property of
every kind and description upon such real estate or used in connection
therewith.
Section 2. The State Board of Health may, in its discretion and
with the approval of the Governor first obtained, by appropriate resolu-
tion, transfer the possession and use of such real and personal property,
or any portion thereof, to any other State agency which is willing to ac-
cept such property on the terms and conditions on which it is offered.
Any State agency accepting such property is hereby authorized, with the
approval of the Governor, to use funds appropriated to it for capital
outlay in acquiring such property from the State Board of Health.
Section 3. The proceeds of the sale or transfer of such property, or
any part thereof, may be used by the State Board of Health, with the
approval of the Governor, in the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis
in the State of Virginia.
Section 4. In the event a new hospital or sanatorium for the care
and treatment of tuberculosis is constructed in the State of Virginia,
there shall be placed therein by the State Board of Health an appropriate
memorial tablet or plaque commemorating the generosity and unselfish
service of those who made possible the establishment and operation of
the Tidewater Victory Memorial Tuberculosis Hospital.
