providing punishment for unlawful prescription or furnishing of certain

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That section sixteen hundred ninety-five of the Code of
Virginia be amended and reenacted as follows:
Section 1695. Punishment for violation of preceding section. —
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of the preceding
section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, for the first offense, shall be fined not exceeding one hundred
dollars, and upon conviction of a second offense, shall be fined not less
than two hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, or shall be im-
prisoned in jail not exceeding six months, or both at the discretion
of the court.
