Chap. 17.—An ACT for the Relief of G. Guvernator, C. Wendlinger and
E. Lohman, Securities of Fernando King, Late Sheriff of Surry County.
In force December 25, 1872.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the auditor
of public accounts is authorized, and hereby required, upon a
settlement of the judgments in the name of the commonwealth
against G. Guvernator, C. Wendlinger and E. Lohman, secu-
rities of Fernando King, late sheriff of Surry county, to receive
from said securities, in discharge of said judgments, the pay-
ment of the principal, legal interest, and cost of collection,
abating therefrom the damages and excess of interest which
have been awarded for said default: provided, that nothing
herein contained shall be construed as relieving said Fernando
King from the payment of any portion of said judgments and
damages.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
