Chap. 306.—An ACT to authorize dipping for herring in certain waters of
Prince George and Surry Counties and the city of Hopewell; and to provide

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. It shall be lawful for any person to dip for herring not for
commercial purposes in any waters of Chappokes, Ward’s and
Powell’s creeks north of State Highway number ten, for which
an annual dip net license fee of not more than one dollar may be
charged.
Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not less than ten
dollars nor more than twenty-five dollars.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
