Chap. 282.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
94-b requiring registration books to be closed for a certain period prior to and
including special elections and referendums. (H 369]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section
numbered ninety-four-b as follows:
Section 94-b. Period preceding special election for closing
registration books in other places——For the purpose of registering
and transferring voters all registration books shall be closed for a
period of six days next preceding and including the day of any
special election or of any election upon a referendum. This act shall
not be construed to shorten the period during which under any
provision of law such books are required to be closed, nor shall
this section apply to cities having a population of more than one
hundred thousand.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
