Chap. 266.—An ACT to authorize the appropriation of certain funds for the
purchase, construction, maintenance, repair and operation of hospital and
health centers in certain counties and towns. [S 324]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. Section 1. The governing body of the county of Halifax
may appropriate funds of such county to be used in connection
with the purchase, construction, maintenance, repair, and operation
of any hospital or health center, in the county of Halifax.
Section 2. Funds appropriated may be contributed to any
corporation or association for the purpose of or to aid in, the
purchasing, construction, maintenance, repair and operation of any
such facility in the county of Halifax. The governing body of the
county of Halifax may give or sell to such corporation or associa-
tion such land or building which the county of Halifax may now
own or may hereafter acquire, and may appropriate from time to
time such sum or sums of money as may be necessary to care for,
protect, operate and maintain any such facility, or to aid in any
such purpose.
Section 3. Any town located in the county of Halifax may
likewise contribute funds for the purchase, construction, mainten-
ance, repair and operation of any such hospital or health center
in the same manner as the county is so authorized to act.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its
passage.
