Chap. 166.—An ACT to amend Chapter 94 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1934, approved March 7, 1934, and known as “The Alcoholic Beverage
Control Act”, by adding thereto a new section to be known as Section 4144-A,
to govern certain activities of clubs so as to prevent clubs from keeping, or
allowing to be kept, upon their premises any alcoholic beverages, and to
prevent the allowing of the consumption of alcoholic beverages upon the
premises of any club unless such club holds a license to sell alcoholic beverages
or beverages as defined in Chapter 3, Acts of General Assembly, Special
Session 1933, issued by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board; to
provide for the penalties for the violation of this section. [H 217)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That chapter ninety-four of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of nineteen hundred thirty-four, approved March seventh, nine-
teen hundred thirty-four, and known as “The Alcoholic Beverage
Control Act”, be amended by adding thereto a new section to be
known as section forty-one and one-half A, as follows:
Section 414%4A. 1. No corporation, partnership, unincorpo-
rated association or individual operating a club for profit or other-
wise, either public or private, shall keep or allow to be kept, either
by itself or any other person, upon its premises any alcoholic bev-
erages, nor shall any corporation, partnership, unincorporated asso-
ciation or individual operating a club for profit or otherwise, either
public or private, permit the consumption of any alcoholic beverage
upon its premises, unless such corporation, partnership, unincorpo-
rated association, or individual shall have a license to sell alcoholic
beverages, or beverages as defined in Chapter three, Acts of Gen-
eral Assembly, Special Session nineteen hundred thirty-three, issued
by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
2. Any corporation, partnership, unincorporated association, or
individual violating the provisions of this section shall be punished
in accordance with the provisions of section sixty-two of The
Alcoholic Beverage Control Act.
