Chap. 161.—An ACT to prohibit fishing by means of trot line or to place any
line, wire or fixed device in the waters of Clinch River, within the county
of Scott, within certain distances of dams; and to provide pewalttes es
violations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to take fish
by means of trot line or trot lines, or to place any line, wire or
fixed device across or within the waters of Clinch River, within
the county of Scott, within a distance of six hundred feet below or
downstream from any dam; but nothing contained herein shall
prevent any person from fishing by means of pole and line or rod
and reel.
Section 2. Any person violating any provision of the preceding
section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof, shall be fined not less than twenty-five dollars nor more
than one hundred dollars for each offense.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
