Chap. 128.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact Section 41 of an Act en-
titled an Act Prescribing the Duties and Compensation of County
Officers, approved March 13th, 1872.
Approved March 8, 1878.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section forty-one of an act entitled an act prescribing the
duties and compensation of county officers, approved March
thirteenth, eighteen hundred and seventy-two, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 41. The superintendent of the poor shall receive for his
services such compensation as the board of supervisors may
deem reasonable. In no case, however, shall such compensa-
tion exceed the sum of four hundred dollars, nor shall such
compensation exceed the sum of thirty dollars for every one
thousand inhabitants of his tounty.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
Cap 129.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact Sections seven and nine of
Chapter one hundred and sixty of Code of 1860, as Amended by an
Act approved June 23rd, 1870, in Relation to Terms of Supreme Court
of Appeals,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That c
sections seven and nine of chapter one hundred and sixty of ¢
the Code of Virginia, edition of eighteen hundred and sixty, *
as amended by the act approved twenty-third June, eighteen 1
hundred and seventy, be amended and re-enacted so as to read
as follows: .
§ 7. The said court, at its session at Richmond, shall hear 8
and determine all appeals, writs of error or supersedeas pend- ¢;
ing there when this act takes effect, or which may be brought 8
to the court of appeals from, or to decrees, judgments, sen-
tences or orders of any court held on the eastern side of the E
Blue Ridge, except the counties of Patrick and Albemarle, and NM
Amherst and Nelson.
§ 9. The court, at its session at Staunton, in the county of B
Augusta, shall hear and determine all. appeals, writs of error ¢
or supersedeas which may be brought to the court of appeals
from, or to decrees, judgments, sentences or orders of court
from the residue of the counties west of the Blue Ridge, and %
also from the counties of Albemarle, Amherst and Nelson.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage. c
