Chap. 117.—-An ACT to Amend and Re-enact Section three of an Act
passed January 13th, 1831, entitled an Act Incorporating the Danville
Female Academy.
Approved March 6, 1873.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section three
of an act passed January thirteenth, eighteen hundred and
thirty-one, entitled an act incorporating the Danville Female
Academy, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 3. The said trustees, or any one of them, shall have power
to take and receive subscriptions for the use of the said acad-
emy, and in case any person shall fail to comply with his or
her subscription, to enforce the payment thereof by warrant
before a justice of the peace, or by motion in any court of
record in this commonwealth, according to the amount of such
subscription, upon giving ten days’ previous notice of such
motion. And in case of the death, resignation, legal disability
or removal from the town and county, of any one of said trus-
tees, the vacancy or vacancies thereby occasioned may be sup-
plied by the remaining trustees, or a majority of them.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
