Chap. 73.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a new section thereto
numbered 5930-a authorizing the payment of certain sums by certain cities to
the clerks of the courts of record of such cities. [H B 192]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a new section
thereto numbered fifty-nine hundred thirty-a, as follows:
Section 5930-a. The clerk of any court of record of any city in
the State having a population in excess of one hundred ninety thousand
shall receive out of the treasury of such city, for services rendered to the
public of the city, such sum as the council may prescribe, not exceeding
twenty-five hundred dollars in one year.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
