Chap. 68.—An ACT to amend Chapter 379 of the Acts of Assembly of 1938, ap-
proved March 31, 1938, known as the “Virginia Public Welfare and Assistance
‘Act of 1938”, by adding thereto a new section numbered 67, authorizing local
boards of public welfare of counties and cities to enter into agreement with
the authorities of other counties and cities and with certain approved homes for
the maintenance and care of certain indigent aged, infirm, chronically ill or
incapacitated persons. (3B B 69]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That chapter three hundred seventy-nine of the Acts of Assembly
of nineteen hundred thirty-eight, approved March thirty-one, nineteen
hundred thirty-eight, known as the ‘Virginia Public Welfare and Assis-
tance Act of nineteen hundred thirty-eight”, be amended by adding a
new section numbered sixty-seven, as follows:
Section 67. Counties and cities may contract for care and main-
tenance.—The local board of public welfare of any county or city may,
with the approval of the governing body of such county or city, enter into
contracts with the appropriate authorities of any other county or city, or
with the board or other governing body of any institution or home in the
State, for the maintenance and care, in a home approved by the State
Board of Public Welfare, of any of its indigent aged, infirm, chronically
ill or incapacitated persons.
