Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That section twenty-seven hundred ninety-nine of the Code of
Virginia, as amended, be amended and re-enacted, as follows:

Section 2799. Salaries of Superintendents of the Poor.—The gov-
erning bodies of counties shall allow superintendents of the poor-such
reasonable compensation for their services as they deem proper.
