Chap. 317.—An ACT for the relief of George Turner. [S B 88]

Whereas, a tractor belonging to the State Highway Commission and
being operated by its agents and servants was being repaired on private
property in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, on or about November twen-
ty-second, nineteen hundred forty-three ; and
Whereas, George Turner, an infant, was watching the repairs be-
ing made; and, !
Whereas, during the course of such repairs, the lock rim on one of
the rear wheels of the tractor blew off, breaking George Turner’s leg
and causing other severe bruises and lacerations; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That there be paid to Mrs. Virginia B. Turner, mother of
George Turner, out of funds appropriated to the Department of High-
ways, the sum of five hundred dollars, such payment to be made by the
State Treasurer upon a warrant issued by the Comptroller.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
