Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. Section 1. The governing body of any county, city or town,
in addition to the powers conferred by section thirty hundred thirty-four
of the Code of Virginia, may, in its discretion, appropriate funds of such
county, city or town for the erection, construction, maintenance and op-
eration of hospitals, or health centers, and facilities necessary thereto,
including such memorials already erected all or a part of which are de-
voted to charitable purposes or can be used to accomplish such purposes,
as a memorial to the residents of such county, city or town who served in
the armed forces of the United States.
Section 2. The powers herein conferred may be exercised jointly
by any county, city or town with any other county, city or town.
