Chap. 28.—An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 57 of Chapter 101 of the Acts
of Assembly of 1922, approved February 25, 1922, which chapter provided a new
charter for the town of Galax, situated in part in the county of Carroll and
in part in the county of Grayson, Section 57 providing that the town shall con-
stitute a separate school district, the amendment providing for representation by
the town on the school boards of said counties. [S B 58]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That section fifty-seven of chapter one hundred and one of the
Acts of Assembly of nineteen hundred twenty-two, approved February
twenty-five, nineteen hundred twenty-two, be amended and re-enacted,
as follows:
Section 57. Said school district so created within the bounds of
said corporate limits shall be called Galax School District of Carroll and
Grayson Counties and shall be a separate and distinct unit within itself in
so far as the Constitution of the State of Virginia will permit, and shall be
entitled to be represented by one member on the county school board of
each of said counties, both of whom shall be members of the school board
of the town and shall be designated by that board, and each of whom,
respectively, shall be a resident of that part of the town which lies in the
county on whose county school board he is designated to serve.
