Chap. 253.—An ACT for the relief of Mary Pultz. [fH B 118]
Approved March 25, 1946
Whereas, on September one, nineteen hundred forty-four, John R.
Pultz, who was serving on the State Convict Road Force at Camp thir-
teen, Fairfax, Virginia, was accidentally shot and killed by a guard try-
ing to prevent two other prisoners from escaping, although John R.
Pultz made no effort to escape, or to aid those escaping ; and
Whereas, the death of John R. Pultz has left his mother, Mary
Pultz, without means of support and in need of immediate relief; and
Whereas, no relief can be had from other sources and it seems only
fair and just under the circumstances to grant such relief ; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his
warrant on the State Treasurer for the sum of five thousand five hundred
and fifty dollars, payable to Mary Pultz, to be paid out of any funds in
the State treasury to the credit of the Department of Highways.
