Chap. 24.—An ACT to amend and re-enact Chapter 364 of the Acts of 1944, ap-
proved March 31, 1944, relating to the expenditure by the Virginia Conserva-
tion Commission of moneys received from the United States as a result of
the condemnation of certain lands in the Seashore State Park for use as a
part of Fort Story. [H. B. 35]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
1. That Chapter three hundred sixty-four of the Acts of Assembly
of nineteen hundred forty-four, approved March thirty-one, nineteen
hundred forty-four, be amended and re-enacted, as follows:
The Virginia Conservation Commission is hereby authorized to
expend such sum or sums of money as has been or may be received by
it, or by the Commonwealth of Virginia, from the United States in pay-
ment of compensation for the taking and/or damaging of certain lands
formerly a part of the Seashore State Park in Princess Anne County,
Virginia, for use as a part of Fort Story; provided that, after payment
of legal and other expenses incident to the condemnation proceedings
instituted by the United States to acquire said lands from the Common-
wealth, the balance of said sum or sums shall be held as a special fund for
use in purchasing or acquiring lands for said park and for the develop-
ment and improvement of said park. All such moneys paid or to be paid
to the Virginia Conservation Commission, or to the Commonwealth of
Virginia, for the taking and damaging of said lands are hereby appropri-
ated to the Virginia Conservation Commission to be used for the purposes
aforesaid.

propriate county funds for erection of a certain memorial. lH. B. 38]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The governing body of Stafford County is authorized to ap-
propriate from county funds such sums as it deems advisable to pay in
whole or in part the costs of erection of a suitable memorial to the county
veterans of World Wars I and II.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
