Chap. 347.—An ACT for the relief of I. J. Smith. [S 132]

Whereas, by chapter three hundred seventy-four of the Acts of the
General Assembly of nineteen hundred forty-two there was appropriated
to the Department of Public Welfare the sum of twelve hundred dollars
to be administered by the department for the benefit and relief of I. J.
Smith, who was seriously injured while working in the elevator shaft
in the State Office Building; and this sum of twelve hundred dollars has
been expended for his benefit, and he is yet physically unable to engage
in any gainful occupation, and has no means of supporting himself or
his family ; and,
Whereas, it is deemed proper that he be granted further relief ; now,
therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. There is appropriated from the general fund in the State treasury,
the further sum of twelve hundred dollars to the State Board of Public
Welfare to be administered by the board for the benefit and relief of
I. J. Smith.
