Chap. 110.—An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 5216-a of the Code of Virginia
relating to Notice of Federal Tax Liens on Real Estate. [S 8]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Section fifty-two hundred sixteen-a of the Code of Virginia
be amended and re-enacted, as follows:
Section 5216-a. Notice of Iederal tax liens on real estate under the
provisions of the laws of the United States, may be filed with the clerk
of the court authorized to record deeds for the county or city wherein
the land subject to such lien is situated. Such notices shall be docketed
in the judgment lien dockets and properly indexed. No tax shall be re-
quired on any such notice, but for each such docketing and indexing the
clerk shall be paid for his services the same fees prescribed by law to be
paid for the docketing and indexing of judgments. Upon notice from
the proper official of the Federal government that such lien has been sat-
isfied or released the clerk shall indorse such satisfaction or release on the
margin of the judgment lien docket where such lien is docketed and file
the notice of discharge with the original notice of the lien.
