Chap. 476.—An ACT to authorize the Fredericksburg Normal and Industrial Insti-
tute to dispose of its property and distribute its assets. [H B 388]

Whereas, the Fredericksburg Normal and Industrial Institute, a
Virginia Corporation organized in nineteen hundred and seven as a bene-
volent institution without capital stock to establish, maintain and conduct
a normal and industrial institute for the education of colored children,
has no further need of its property and assets, its activities having been
taken over by the City of Fredericksburg; and
Whereas, the said corporation now desires to dispose of its property,
real and personal, and to distribute its assets as hereinafter provided,
and it is deemed proper that this should be done; Now therefore,
I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Fredericksburg Normal and Industrial Institute, of Fredericksburg,
Virginia, is hereby authorized and empowered to sell and dispose of its
property, both real and personal, and, after paying all necessary expenses
in connection therewith, to distribute and pay one-half of its remaining
funds and assets to the Mary Washington Hospital Association, In-
corporated, located at Fredericksburg, Virginia, to be added to the build-
ing fund of the said Association, one-fourth to the trustees or other
governing body of the Shiloh Cemetery for colored people located in or
near Fredericksburg, Virginia, and one-fourth to be used by the trustees
of the Fredericksburg Normal and Industrial Institute to supply milk
to the under-privileged children of the colored race in and near the said
City of Fredericksburg.
