Chap. 438.—An ACT to authorize and empower the State Hospital Board to grant
and convey unto Virginia Electric and Power Company certain electric distribu-
tion lines and rights of way therefor on, over and across the property of the
Petersburg State Colony in Prince George County, Virginia. [H B 471]
Approved April 6, 1942.
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
State Hospital Board be and it hereby is authorized and empowered to
grant and convey unto Virginia Electric and Power Company, its suc-
cessors and assigns, for such consideration as the said Board shall deem
proper, all of the right, title and interest of the Commonwealth of Virginia
and Petersburg State Colony in and to certain electric light and power
lines now located on the property of the Petersburg State Colony in
Prince George County, Virginia, and to also grant and convey unto Vir-
ginia Electric and Power Company, its successors and assigns, upon such
terms and conditions as the State Hospital Board shall deem proper,
rights of way for the maintenance and operation of said electric distribu-
tion lines, and for such extensions thereof as the State Hospital Board may
deem desirable. The instrument or instruments so granting and conveying
said light and power lines and said easements of right of way shall be
signed and executed in such manner and form as may be authorized and
directed by the said State Hospital Board, provided, however, that the in-
strument granting and conveying such right of way shall provide for the
reversion of the easement to the Commonwealth of Virginia in the event of
abandonment of the easement by the Virginia Electric and Power Com-
pany or its assigns.
