Chap. 418.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding to Chapter 253
thereof a new section numbered 6064-a, to provide who shall be included in the
term “agent”, for the purpose of service of any attachment or garnishment
process, or notice of judgment, upon a foreign corporation, and to provide that
service upon any such agent shall be sufficient service of such process. [S B 280]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia be amended by adding to chapter two hundred and
fifty-three thereof a new section numbered sixty hundred and sixty-
four-a, as follows: |
Section 6064-a. Agents of Foreign Corporations for Purpose of
Service of Certain Processes.—The term “agent”, for the purpose of
service, upon a foreign corporation, of any attachment or garnishment
process, or of notice of judgment obtained, shall include the local man-
ager, superintendent, paymaster and cashier of such corporation, and
service of any such process or notice of lien of execution or judgment
upon such local manager, superintendent, paymaster or cashier, or any
other agent of such corporation, in the county or city wherein he resides
or in which the foreign corporation has a place of business in this State,
shall constitute sufficient service upon the corporation, notwithstanding
the provisions of sections thirty-eight hundred and forty-five and sixty
hundred and forty-four of the Code of Virginia, as amended, or any other
provision of law.
