Chap. 410.—An ACT to provide a circuit court for the City of Bristol ; to provide
that it shall constitute a part of the twenty-third judicial circuit, and that the
judge of that circuit shall be judge of the new court; to provide for fixing the
number and times for holding the terms of the court; and to provide when the
foregoing provision shall become effective. [H B 538]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, as follows:
Section 1. There is hereby established a circuit court for the City of
Bristol, which city shall be and constitute a part of the twenty-third judi-
cial circuit, and the judge of that circuit shall be the judge of the new
court, which shall be known as the circuit court of the City of Bristol.
The number of terms of the court to be held each year, which shall be
at least two, and the day upon which each term shall commence, shall be
us prescribed by the judge thereof, by an order entered of record on the
‘common law order book of the court on the first day of the first term:
srovided, that the judge may, from time to time, change the number of
erms and the days upon which terms, or any of them, shall commence. —
Section 2. The preceding section shall not become effective unless
ind until it shall be determined, in the manner prescribed by law, that
he City of Bristol is a city of the first class. Upon such fact being so
letermined the provisions of this act shall become effective and there-
fter be in full force and effect.
