Chap. 405.—An ACT to prohibit trapping with snares and steel traps, in certain
named county, or counties, by any one other than the owner of the land, or his
licensee; and to prescribe penalty for violation thereof. [H B 476]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful to trap with steel traps, in the county
of Appomattox, except when done on land by its owner, members of his
household, tenants, or those having permission to do so from the land-
owner or his agent.
Section 2. It shall be lawful for any person to set steel traps or
snares at any time upon his own lands, leased lands or upon the lands of
another with the written consent of the owner or his agent in Appomattox
county.
Section 3. Any person who violates any provision of this act shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be punished ac-
cordingly.
