Chap. 357.—An ACT to provide for compensation of ex-judges of circuit or city
courts which have been abolished, who have attained the age of seventy years,
and who served as judge of any such court for not less than fifteen years.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That any
ex-judge of any circuit court or any corporation or other city court of
-ecord which was abolished while he was serving as judge thereof, who
has attained the age of seventy years, and who served as judge of such
sourt for not less than fifteen years before it was abolished, shall be paid,
for so long as he may live, out of the general fund in the State treasury,
or out of such funds as shall be appropriated for the purpose, annual
compensation of nine hundred dollars commencing July first, nineteen
hundred and forty-two, such payments to be made in like manner as pay-
ments are made to retiring judges under the provisions of section fifty-
nine hundred and seventy-eight-a of the Code of Virginia.
